Why Grams to mL Depends on Density
Grams measure mass; milliliters measure volume. Water is ~1 g/mL; flour, oil, and honey need density. Cooking converter caveats.

Why doesn’t grams convert to milliliters with one fixed number?
Because grams are mass and milliliters are volume. Only water-like liquids are about 1 g ≈ 1 mL; other ingredients need density.

Mass and volume are different physical quantities. Density (g/mL) is the bridge: mL = g ÷ density.
